The HSE Competency Programme is an initiative from the Joint MISC HSE Taskforce (Construction and Energy) under the Manpower Planning and
Employment Council (MPEC) to enable local employees and i-Ready Apprentices in the private construction & energy sector to acquire professional certification and experience in HSE.

The programme is a combination of certification (IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH IGC Occupational Health & Safety) and relevant HSE experience in order to enable the participants to fulfil SHENA requirements for WSH Coordinator and WSH Officer job positions, thus assisting the industry to comply to the Workplace Safety and Health Order, 2009. The programme will initially be launched as a pilot programme to cater to the Construction and Energy sector and hopefully, it will be expanded to further industries in the future.
